Match Preview

Banff Men are ready for the challenge of North Police this Saturday and are buoyed by what was a fantastic win in a hard fought game against Deeside last week.

Banff have trained hard in the week and pushed by both Seb and Robbie, with increased numbers available to train, there is a buzz about the team and a great team great team spirit.

Banff will have Ben Collins back in he pack at his usual position of No8, unfortunately Stuart Ferrier is not available this weekend but Sean Clark has stepped for into the front row and after what was an outstanding performance by Clark last weekend we all will be hoping for more of his direct running and support play.

Banff will also be without silky running Thomas McCallum at Prop after he injured his hand at work this week, the front row will consist of Vice captain Liam Ros at hooker and Calum Christie at prop, who will make a formidable front row and look to dominate upfront.

Richard Rees will take up his role at second row and will add weight to the pack, he will offer the big carries through the phases in open play. Banff are hopeful for the return of Man of the match last week Tain Coper to partner Rees in the second row, Tain scored his first try for Banff last weekend.

The Banff pack is competed by the flank forward partnership of Olly Oakes and Kieran Riddell, Riddell moving back from the No 8 position last to his normal flanker position, Last week both Oakes and Riddell covered alot of ground and put in some critical tackles when needed.

The Halfback pairing of Risdon (You spin me Right Round Risdon) and and Swan that worked so well will again be employed, Risdon's kicking game was in top form last week and really added to the pressure put on Deeside.

In the centres it's looking like Pete Day will reclaim his place along side Euan Swan who smashed his way through the Gordonians Defence for two try's on the opening weekend.

The back line is looking incredible strong this weekend with Conner Riddell on the wing and Michael Golibeoski on the opposing wing with the safe hands of the blisteringly fast Jack Green at full back.

Then to top it all off we have a bench to match all others with not one, not two, but Three Swaffield's looking to come on and reek havok, young Callum swaffield will be looking to add to his try last week and show how great his defensive play is with his fantastic cover tackling.

We again have the support of Euan and also this week former club captain Andy Kewley to bolster the forward pack.

Young Aronn Westwick and his go faster shorts will be a great addition to the wing when needed and it's a great privilege to have back club favorite fullback, Mark fullbrook who in his last performance on the opening day against Gordonians seen Mark pull on the 9 jersey and turn in a fantastic performance.

It's looking like being a great weekend of rugby at Duff House this weekend, so why not get yourself down there and cheer on the Hoops to victory.

The clubhouse will also be hosting a Hot wing
Challenge after the game along with the world cup games on the screen the former is sure to be an absolute hoot! And will see more that a few hot faces.
